The Analog Girl falls under the whole “it’s in the name” category. This electronic outfit casts dark, twisty beats that rattle through your brain. The Singapore-born artist’s latest single “Tonight Your Love” is creepy and gentle, with Bjork-like vocals and a pitter-patter of synths to huddle around her subtle singing. Garnering praise from TIME, Nylon and The Straits Times, The Analog Girl is proving to be one of those mystical dream figures we need to keep tabs on. She sets a mood and forces you to stay there. We spotted Lucy Bidwell, took one look at her outfit and it was style lust at first sight. Soon after we shamelessly invited ourselves to the filmaker/photographer‘s Downtown LA pad, to get a closer look at her closet and ask her a few questions about her inspiration and most treasured pieces.

“This is a picture that I asked Richard Haines draw of my family for my Mom’s birthday. His sketches are awesome.”

“Both of those belts belonged to my Mom. She has the coolest stuff. The hat was my fathers. The jacket belonged to my uncle in college. It’s hand painted and says ‘Grateful Dead’. All of the coolest stuff I own are hand-me-downs from relatives.”

“I love colors! That’s a green blanket I stole from my parents. I love it against a white duvet.”

“The red metal box and yellow Oregonian newspaper holder were housewarming gifts from my friend Foster. We’re both from Oregon, so it’s nice to have a piece of Oregon with me in LA. The painting on top of the box is my own. And the guitar pictured was the first acoustic guitar I bought. It’s been all over the country.”

“I love bulletin boards. I always have a huge one in my room. They help me organize myself creatively. I might put up post cards or pictures or little quotes i’ve found.”

“This is my favorite jacket I own. I don’t even wear it because I love it so much. I hang it up on my wall like a piece of art. This was my father’s vietnam souvenir jacket. It says “I know I’m going to heaven because I spent my time in hell”. Isn’t’ that great?”

“Usually on Thursdays there are fashion events in the city.  I love having fun and putting more thought into dressing up for these fashion blogger events.  To keep it interesting, I created a sporty look with an Obey hat, biker jacket and cool, perforated bag.”

Friday

“We have casual jean Fridays at the office and what better way to welcome the weekend with jeans and a pretty floral top. I decided to pair my boyfriend jeans with the girly shirt to add a hint of tomboy.”

Saturday

“I love hitting the club and having fun with my girlfriends on Saturday nights.  This sequin gold dress was perfect for a night out along with a pop of color with the red trench coat (especially since it gets so cold here in San Francisco).”

Sunday

“After a long fun Saturday night, a relaxing brunch with my girlfriends and mimosas is a must.  I love this outfit because it’s easy breezy.”
