Emily Jane White started out as a punk. Did you know that? That’s what the internet says. Then, she went to France to pump her brain full of knowledge, until settling in San Fransisco to make music. Lately, she has completed another solo effort Blood Lines (Important Records), which drops on November 19. Today, we bring you the latest single “Keeley”. White’s voice calls to the vulnerable, bareness of greats like Sinead or Kate Bush, while still remaining current and unique. It’s rhythmic, haunting and passionate. “Keeley” chills our bones. On the track “Golden Wake” off Love’s Crushing Diamond 12” EP, Mutual Benefit swoons with oddly broken hearted skid punk lyrics over a pretty, violin-heavy ballad.
